Recently, the High Court in Shah Alam approved the application of former Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, to temporarily obtain his passport so that he can go for back pain treatment in Munich, Germany.

Now, the Kuala Lumpur High Court has approved the application of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor to obtain her passport so that she can visit her pregnant daughter in Singapore.

Based on a report by Berita Harian, Judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan approved the application with the condition that the passport must be returned on or before 6 December, 2021.

He added that the applicant (Rosmah) can only leave Singapore from 22 October and must return to Malaysia on or before 21 November.

“The court allowed the applicant’s application and passport to be returned on 15 October (today),” he said.

Earlier, Datuk Jagjit Singh told the court that the applicant’s daughter, Nooryana Najwa, was eight months pregnant and would be giving birth to her second child in Singapore, and hence, applied for his client’s passport to be temporarily released.

The application was not opposed by Deputy Public Prosecutor, Mohamad Mustaffa P Kunyalam, though the prosecution did say that the applicant must not interrupt the trial date and apply a set timeline.

The trial before Mohamed Zaini continues on 21 October, with the prosecution cross-examining Rosmah.

On 5 October, she testified under oath at the self-defense trial proceedings of a corruption case involving hybrid solar worth RM1.25 billion in Sarawak.

69-year-old Rosmah is accused of soliciting RM187.5 million and two charges of accepting a bribe of RM6.5 million from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director, Saidi Abang Samsudin, in connection with the solar energy project through his former aide, Datuk Rizal Mansor.

It was in return for helping Jepak Holdings procure the Hybrid Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System Integrated Project as well as Genset/Diesel Maintenance and Operation for 369 rural schools in Sarawak worth RM1.25 billion from the Ministry of Education through direct negotiations.
