Kindness goes a long way. One small act from us can mean something huge to others.
A durian vendor from Kuantan, Pahang recently put a smile on someone’s face with his generosity. In a viral TikTok post by @rizqinrifri1, Rizai stated that an elderly man had come up to him to pass him a note just as he was about to call it a night.
The senior citizen also presented an OKU card to prove his mutism, and all he wanted was one durian, not for himself, but for his child who was craving it.
“I want to get a durian for my child but I don’t have enough cash. Thank you.”
Without any hesitation, Rizal gave the senior citizen not one but a full basket of Udang Merah (Red Prawn) durians on the house!
Red Prawn durians are also known as the D175 durian.
In his post, Rizal, the man who runs the business at MR Patin House, also stated that the senior citizen could’ve easily run off with one durian but the latter chose to be honest and, in his humility, told Rizal about his situation.
“He could’ve run off with one durian but he came forward to give me this piece of note.”
In a conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Rizal said everyone at the scene was heartbroken to see the senior citizen in tears upon receiving the free basket of durians. When asked about the exact number of durians, Rizal mentioned,
“A full basket usually contains 7 durians, which cost around RM100.”
Rizal also told WORLD OF BUZZ that the senior citizen initially asked for the cheapest durian because he had no intentions of asking for more. Rizal, however, believed that the senior citizen deserved to get something better.
“I decided to give him something different. I wanted him to try the quality of Red Prawn Durians.”
Thank you, Rizal, for your kindness. We hope the senior citizen and his child got to enjoy what they wanted.
