Hundreds of Malaysian credit card users’ details have been found to be compromised and leaked online! This shocking news was uncovered by an Indian-based cybersecurity start up company called Technisanct.
According to the Star, the company had identified that a series of data breaches occurred all over the Asian region. This data breach involved the exploitation of credit card details that were issued by top banks in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
Credit card users should be on high alert because vital details such as their CCV and pin number have been leaked. This data breach jeopardises their financial situation because it provides access for anyone to take advantage of their credit card. Furthermore, credit card users could also experience massive losses because their data is now out in the open.
“The results are alarming as it seems no one is aware that such a huge volume of payment card details – including the CVV and PIN – are available, ” said CEO of Tecnhisanct, Nandakishore Harikumar.
Credit card users are highly advised to keep their details secure and constantly update their security measures. They are also recommended to consult the respective banks that provided their credit cards regarding any uncertainties.
