The act of stealing should never be condoned under any circumstances, and at times, it’s common for thieves to come up with an excuse to defend themselves.
Just recently in Indonesia, a man was caught by the police for allegedly stealing a goat. The police immediately brought him to the station and they managed to interrogate the man in the car. The man confessed to stealing but denied stealing the goat as he had his eyes on something else.
‘I just wanted to take the rope but I didn’t know the goat was following,’ the man explained.
The 3-metre rope was tied to the goat’s neck and when he got his hands on the rope, he claimed that he had no idea the goat was ‘tagging along.’
According to a video shared by Tribun Medan, the man remained calm while being interrogated by the police in the car and insisted that he was only aiming for the rope. His justification may be humourous to some people, but of course, the police officers did not buy his story.
‘That’s called stealing a goat!’ the police officer insisted.

The man continuously insisted that he was only stealing the rope and we have to admit that he was pretty persistent!
Regardless, the man was eventually arrested.
We ‘applaud’ the man’s efforts and persistence in his attempt to escape the police by giving an unreasonable excuse, and we hope this will serve as a reminder to the people out there NOT to steal and justification for your acts will not help you in any way.
