Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin, announced at the beginning of June, that the government will be giving out RM50 through e-wallet to all citizens. However, one of the conditions to get the RM50 was that you’d have to download the MySejahtera app which is used for contact tracing.
Malaysians rushed to download the app and soon, the app crashed as too many people downloaded it and tried registering at the same time.
But thankfully, the wait is finally over as you will be getting your RM50 e-Penjana money starting tomorrow (31st July) which will be banked in your e-wallet either Boost, GrabPay or Touch ‘n Go Wallet, according to Harian Metro.
Obviously, to be eligible for the money, you need to download either one of the e-wallet apps and the MySejahtera app. You will also have to make sure your app has been updated to the latest version.
The general criteria to receive the free RM50 is:
- Must be a Malaysian citizen
- Aged 18 years old and above
- Has a yearly income of less than RM100,000
