With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, we’re sure some of you are planning on surprising your significant others with extravagant gifts to show just how much you love them. But as far as grand gestures go, this guy probably has you beat!
Recently, a love-smitten man from Johor drove all the way down to KL so a unique florist could make his girlfriend a bouquet of ringgit roses amounting to a whopping total of RM20,000!
The 38-year-old local flower shop owner, who goes by the name of Zheng Aini, told China Press, that her wealthy customer brought RM20,000 with him in the form of RM100 and RM10 notes on 4th February when he travelled across states to meet with the florist so she could make the valuable gift.
While Zheng admits that she’s received hundreds of orders to make ringgit rose bouquets out of banknotes, this is the largest and by far, the most valuable flower arrangement she’s ever made. When they were discussing about the special Valentine’s project, the two agreed that a total of 99 roses would be made. Each rose would have two RM100 notes as petals with an RM10 note nestled inside as a rosebud.
The determined florist said that it usually takes five banknotes to make a paper flower rose as you’d need four petals and one bud but due to her customer’s budget constraints, she managed to make the impressive arrangement with just three banknotes per rose!
Nonetheless, the art of paper flower making requires a lot of patience, as Zheng shared that she would need at least three days to complete the massive rose bouquet. The finished product is estimated to be as large as a car tire!
Zheng said she was shocked that the man entrusted her with such a large amount of cash. The talented paper flower artist admits to not knowing whether her customer was planning on giving the bouquet to his girlfriend as a Valentine’s gift or for a possible marriage proposal. All she knew was that he would show up again to pick up the finished ringgit bouquet on Valentine’s Day itself.
Whoever this man’s girlfriend is, we hope she knows how lucky she is to have a partner like this! Share this with your Valentine so they’ll get the right idea 😉
