Transport Minister Anthony Loke has announced a RM150 flat rate offer to help settle unpaid Road Transport Department (JPJ) summonses.

According to Business Today, the offences include those issued under the:

  • AwAS Summons (Summons 53A) – speeding violations or running red lights captured by the AwAS camera system
  • Notice 114 (investigation interview notice)
  • Notice 115 (affixed summons notice)

The offer will run in 2 phases

In a post shared by JPJ, they mentioned that Malaysian motorists can now pay their traffic summonses through the MyJPJ app.

“The MyJPJ app was introduced to make it easier for people to settle their fines. This new feature is part of JPJ Malaysia’s ongoing digitalisation efforts, keeping up with technological advancements and future public needs,” the post said.

Loke, who launched the new JPJ Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya office today (January 2), also shared details about the offer period, which will run from:

  • January 3, 2025 to March 31, 2025 (Phase 1)
  • April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025 (Phase 2)

From RM300 to RM150!

Business Today also reported that Loke explained that all 3 types of summonses (listed above) have a fine of RM300, but JPJ has set a special rate to help those who haven’t paid their outstanding fines to clear them now.

“All 3 notices have a fine of RM300, but we’re offering a special rate starting tomorrow for 6 months to let people settle them. If they don’t pay, they won’t be able to renew their licenses,” he added.

He also mentioned that this decision came after 2 million unpaid summonses were recorded nationwide since 2018.

Loke mentioned that road users can pay their fines through JPJ counters, the JPJ website, JPJ kiosks, JPJ mobile counters, and the myJPJ app.
