Road Transport Department (JPJ) enforcement officers in Selangor are now equipped with body-worn cameras (BWC) in an effort to enhance transparency, accountability and integrity during enforcement operations.
In a statement, Selangor JPJ director Azrin Borhan revealed that its enforcement officers have been wearing BWCs since 15 December.

Meanwhile, BERNAMA quoted Azrin as saying that the visual and audio recordings captured by the devices will serve as valid supporting evidence.
“The use of BWCs is also intended to protect enforcement officers from misunderstandings, unfounded accusations or harassment while carrying out duties,” the Selangor JPJ director stated.
Speaking to the media during a press conference following an Integrated Special Operation at the Sungai Ramal Toll Plaza in Kajang on Thursday (18 December), Azrin announced the outcome of continuous enforcement of “Ops Perang Lebih Muatan” (War Against Overloading) in the state.

So far, Selangor JPJ has seized 22 overloaded vehicles and issued a total of 39,555 notices for various offences. Among the highest recorded violations were:
- Expired Motor Vehicle Licenses (LKM) – 5,160 notices
- No Competent Driving License (CDL) – 4,440 notices
- No insurance coverage – 3,492 notices
- No Vocational License – 2,299 notices
- Overloading offenses – 1,080 notices
Azrin emphasised that the enforcement carried out aims to educate and ensure that all commercial vehicle operators and owners comply with technical specifications, weight limits, and road safety standards for the collective good.
Moreover, stern action will continue to be taken without exception against any party found violating the regulations.
“Any traffic complaints can be channelled to ym.vog.jpj@kifartnauda or via the e-Aduan@JPJ application platform, complete with the complainant’s details and the specifics of the complaint,” the statement added.
