Smokers in Malaysia have been banished from eateries ever since the smoking ban took effect on January 1, 2019 and have been learning to adapt to this new law. However, it looks like there are disgruntled smokers out there who are very displeased with this ban.

Previously, news of smokers flying into a rage and slapping a worker at a Shah Alam mamak for reminding them not to smoke went viral and now, it looks like we have outraged smokers again. Based on a report from Oriental Daily, the owner of a food stall in Kepong saw a few men hanging out at the eatery on Sunday (Jan 13) afternoon.
They were puffing away happily while enjoying their drinks but since this was against the law, they went over to give them a gentle reminder. The three smokers at the table ignored the reminder and continued smoking. Later, another worker and the owner headed over to the stubborn smokers’ table and tried to persuade them to stop smoking but this was when they suddenly got furious.

The smokers started arguing with the stall’s workers, which deteriorated into a scuffle. One of the smokers picked up a wooden stick that was nearby and started using it to beat up the workers there. WTF bro! As a result, the workers suffered bruises on their arms and back.
Before they left, the aggressive smokers even told the staff there that they were going to ram their car into the stall. It was reported that the stall owner has already made a police report.
That’s inexcusable behaviour! The staff was just doing their jobs and obeying the law!
