It is very heartwarming to know about everyday ordinary Malaysians who go out of their way to help those in need and this story will restore your faith in humanity. The incident happened on July 11, at around 3.00am just as this netizen was on his way to run some important errands.

“I was on my way out when I saw someone walking alone on the highway. Because I always use this road, I know that there aren’t any houses nearby. Curious, I approached him and asked him whether he needed a ride. He asked me, ‘Is that okay?’, as he was going to Kajang. Since I was going in that direction, I told him to hop on my bike.”
“It was quite a distance to Kajang so we stopped at a petrol station along the way to refuel. That was when I started chatting with him and asked him why he was walking alone at night. The answer I got in reply shocked me.”

“He told me his name is Ganesan and he is a general worker for a private company. He usually rides on the company van but on that day, he was late so they left without him. Unfortunately, he had left his wallet and mobile phone inside the van so he had nothing on him.”
“Guess where he started walking? DAMANSARA. He started walking from 6.00pm until 3.30am, which was when I saw him. The poor man walked alone for 9 hours and 30 minutes from Damansara because no one wanted to help him. They didn’t even allow him to make a single phone call to request for help.”
“In addition, he was left without a single cent because he had left his wallet behind. I can’t imagine how hungry the poor fellow is as he had to walk almost 10 hours without any food and drink. I offered my drink to him but he was hesitant to accept it.”

Unfortunately, Radin Dainal only had enough money at that moment to pay for his petrol so he couldn’t take the Ganesan for a meal.
He told Ganesan, “If I had even RM5 or RM10 with me I would take you to have a meal. But I apologise because this is the only money I have at the moment. Just enough to pay for my petrol, because I already used all my money for my wedding this week. But I promise that I will buy you lunch or dinner next time when I have some money.”
Ganesan assured Radin Dainal that it was fine and he was already grateful enough that he didn’t have to walk all the way back to Kajang on foot. He said,
“I’m already thankful that you helped me because before this, whenever I approached anyone, they didn’t want to help me at all.”

Radin Dainal ended his post by feeling sad that nobody wanted to help his new-found friend. He reminded everyone that we are all humans and we should always be kind and helpful. In fact, based on his Facebook, this good Samaritan has a history of helping many souls in need, not just once!
