In a recent heartwarming incident that has sparked discussion among netizens online, a 78-year-old man travelled from his home in Puchong all the way to Shah Alam on foot.
The story was recently shared by the Polis Diraja Malaysia (Royal Malaysia Police) on Facebook, revealing how the elderly man, Tan Lee Bin, walked with a cane from Puchong to IPD Shah Alam to settle his summons, despite the scorching sun and his advanced age.
Mr. Tan, clad in shorts and a light blue t-shirt, caught the attention of the policemen present at the station with his determination and commitment to uphold the law.
Faith in humanity restored
According to the post, Inspector Muhammad Hanif Syukri and Constable Khairul Zulkifli from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division took the initiative to assist Tan by organising a special escort to accompany him home.
The caption of the post reads,
“Mr. Tan Lee Bin, aged 76, arrived on foot at IPD Shah Alam, to pay the summons this afternoon. The officers decided to escort the elderly man back to his home in Taman Puchong Perdana, Puchong, Selangor. May the bond between the Royal Malaysia Police and the community continue to thrive regardless of race or religion.”
