A couple in Kelantan recently went viral for taking wedding pictures on the railway track when a train was approaching them!

The couple was “having the time of their lives” on the KTMB Guillemard Bridge, where they were also honked at by the train for dangerously blocking its path. The train also had to slow down to make way for the couple and the photographers to get off the rail track to their safety.

KTMB is well aware of this matter and in a recent Facebook post, the train company reminded others that it is a punishable offence to take pictures and videos near the rail track, not to mention how dangerous it is.

“All railway areas are prohibited. Legal actions under Section 126 Land Public Transport Act will be taken against tresspassers and a fine of RM500 will be issued.”

KTMB also revealed that the viral matter involving the wedding photoshoot on the Guillemard Bridge is currently being investigated.

Social media users, on the other hand, were happy to hear that KTMB is taking action, and many were hoping that this would serve as a reminder and a lesson to others.

“This is dangerous and the newlyweds were walking like nothing happened. I hope society will be more alert, and know that it’s an offence to take pictures and videos near the rail track.”

“Good job, KTMB. The investigation is now ongoing and hopefully, this will serve as a lesson to others.”

“It pisses me off to see this. Please issue a summon, and look at how relaxed the bride was.”

“They had the audacity to walk casually.”

Some also pointed out that the RM500 fine was too low

“Please just increase the summon to RM1,000, so they can understand the danger.”

“Please take action and don’t ignore it. The RM500 fine is too low. It should be RM50,000 per person. Out of so many places, they chose this dangerous spot and when accidents happen, the train will ‘take’ them away forever.”

“Really? Just RM500?”

There’s nothing wrong with taking pictures, but the time and location matter. We sincerely hope this will be the last time anyone risking their lives for a photoshoot, or just for the Gram!
