Living in Malaysia, sometimes we think we’ve seen it all, but this aunty just proved us wrong.

Just recently, a netizen shared a bizarre scene he came across while taking the MRT. Apparently, he saw a baby hammock hanging in the train while the mother sat near it. Concerned about the safety issue this posed, he decided to share it on social media to raise awareness among commuters.

Here’s what he said, as reported by a portal,

“You might as well bring along your mattress on the MRT. As a parent, you should monitor your children and take care of the public facilities as it belongs to everyone.”

“It’s baffling how you can hang a baby hammock in the MRT. If the train applied emergency brakes, your baby will be tossed out of the hammock.”

The post instantly went viral on social media with netizens criticising the mother’s behaviour. “This is deeply embarrassing for all Malaysians! She might as well just move in her furniture and live in the MRT!” one netizen commented.

This shocking incident blew up and subsequently garnered the attention of MRT Malaysia. A statement was soon released on their official Facebook page in response to the incident. Their post reads,

“This is incredibly dangerous. Please take care of your safety on the MRT, and be sure not to damage the facilities on it.”

“Any individual or group that is caught damaging public facilities, especially in MRT stations, will be charged under by-laws, which carries a RM2,000 fine, or imprisonment of no more than 1 year upon conviction.”

This incident, on top of the recent vandalism in the underground MRT stations, is a clear sign that Malaysians are in dire need of mentality upgrade, otherwise these facilities won’t last long!
