The initiative is said to be one of the measures taken to encourage cashless transactions among youths or full-time students at registered local institutions of higher learning, and also help relieve their financial burdens. The redemption period for the eBelia credits starts on 1 June and will carry on until 22 July 2021. The credits must be utilised before 31 July 2021.

According to the latest announcement by the Ministry of Finance, each eligible youth can redeem the RM150 credit once from one of the four eWallet providers and get additional incentives in the form of cashbacks, vouchers, points, or coins from the respective platforms.
