Pets are almost like family in most households, and goodness knows half of them are spoilt beyond belief!

Although pets are a joy to own, they’re also a huge responsibility for owners, because we need to ensure that they’re healthy, well-fed, and get plenty of exercise. One thing many pet owners tend to neglect however, is the importance of neutering their beloved animals.

To be fair, getting your pet fixed can come with a hefty price tag, which is why most pet owners don’t bother going through with the procedure.

However, did you know that you can actually neuter your pets at a much more affordable cost?

The Selangor Government Can Cover The Costs Of Neutering Your Pet, Here's How - WORLD OF BUZZ 1

The Selangor Neutering Subsidy (SENS), funded by the Selangor State Government, is a pilot project started by the PAWS Animal Welfare Society that helps cover a portion of neutering fees for cat or dog owners. Here’s how you can apply!

  1. Print and fill out the application form available here
  2. Attach an original copy of a receipt from your veterinarian, along with before and after photos of your animal (before and after neutering), and a photocopy of your MyKad to the form
  3. Post the form along with the relevant attachments to the following address within 14 days after the date on the vet receipt;

          SELANGOR NEUTERING SUBSIDY PAWS,

Animal Welfare Society Pilmoor Estate, Subang Airport Road 47200 Subang, Selangor

Of course, like any programme, there are certain conditions the applicant has to fulfil in order to be eligible for this subsidy, which are:

  • The subsidy is only available for the actual cost of the neutering procedure of cats and dogs only performed by a veterinarian in a veterinarian clinic located in Selangor.
  • The subsidy is available up to a maximum of RM60 per cat and RM100 per dog (only covers neutering).
  • Applicants must either be registered Selangor residents or born in Selangor in order to be eligible.
  • Each person is entitled to apply for subsidy for a maximum of 5 animals only per week (with one application form per animal and one vet receipt per animal).
  • The application form must be completed in block capital letters by the applicant and veterinarian.

You can find out more information and read the complete list of conditions on SENS’ website here and their Facebook page here. Be sure to check out PAWS’ Facebook page too!

So, there shouldn’t be any excuse for you not to neuter your pets now!
