How many of you guys already have the government-run MySejahtera contact tracing app on your smartphones? Well, if you don’t, you may want to download it right now!
As it turns out, the National Security Council of Malaysia has recently updated their new SOP guidelines for the retail sector, and almost all retail employees and customers need to download the MySejahtera app and register an active account through the app.
The list of retail sectors where this new SOP guideline applies to are as follows:
- Shopping mall
- Department Store
- Clothing and apparel boutiques
- Convenience store/mini market
- Laundry (including self-service laundry)
- Auto Repair and Parts Store
- Furniture store
- Jewelry shops
- Electrical goods and appliance shops
- Bookstores & stationery shops
- Hardware shops
- Pet supply shops
- Optical shops
The only retail sector that will not require the use of the MySejahtera app is petrol stations.
And if you think about it, having the MySejahtera app at all times is probably going to be far more convenient than having to jot down your details at every shop you visit! All you need to do is:
- Download the MySejahtera app through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery
- Register an account with your details in it
- Then tap on the QR scanner available in the MySejahtera app every time you visit any retail stores to scan their QR code
- Upon completion, the store will have a record of your attendance
Not only is this a more convenient way of providing your details when going out, the MySejahtera app allows our health officials to efficiently and quickly track and trace any potential outbreaks of Covid-19 by determining every individual’s travel history. That way, close contact cases can be quickly identified and treated without further risk of exposure to others!
So do your part today, and download the MySejahtera app now!
