However, recently many fake or unauthorized products have been selling very well in this industry, thanks to their lower prices and unrealistic ‘guarantees’.

What every Malaysian will have to look out is for the Ministry of Health’s approval.
More often than not, ignorant consumers choose to purchase them anyways. But these products are all unsafe to use!
This has raised an alarm in Brunei Darussalm’s Ministry of Health (MOH) to the point where they had to ban certain Malaysian products from being sold in the country, Borneo Bulletin reported.
These products are the Tati Skincare 5 in 1 and the Lyanaz Beauty Care brands.

Traces of Mercury, Hydroquinone and Tretinoin were found in these products which are very harmful when in contact with the human skin.
Mercury is so potent that when in contact with human skin and absorbed into the body, it can cause rashes, memory loss, and muscle weakness.
If exposed to a high concentration of this chemical, the brain and kidney can even be damaged!
Unborn babies can also be affected if the pregnant mother come in contact with mercury.
Hydroquinone is quite the common chemical used in whitening products.
Unfortunately, it is very strong and any unsupervised usage of products with this chemical can result in the skin becoming DARKER and also an increased in risk of skin cancer.
Tretinoin on the other hand is a medication for treating acne, but over-usage of this product can lead to redness, blisters, peeling, and even scarring of the skin.
For anyone who has used these products, you are advised to stop using them immediately and seek medical attention.
Meanwhile, those who are selling these products are reminded that it is an offence to sell these products regardless of whichever platform, such as retail stores, online shops, etc.
Regardless of how cheap these products are, are our health really worth risking just to save some money? In the end, it is best you invest your money in better and certified products.
Or else, you might just end up in the hospital bed like this girl who used a fake cosmetic product.
