A foreign student studying in Malaysia recently shared a distressing incident he experienced in which he was allegedly sexually assaulted by a doctor who treated his wound at a clinic in Johor.
Posting to the r/Malaysia subreddit on the social site Reddit to share the ordeal, the man shared that the incident happened on Monday (26 February) and had been haunting him ever since.
Injured his knee and wanted to find some medication for the wound

In the post, he shared how he was outside walking and accidentally slipped and grazed his knee. He then looked for the nearest pharmacy and ended up finding a health clinic.
Tired and injured, the foreign student ended up visiting the clinic to get some medicine to be used on the wound. At first, he wanted to clean the wound and cover it himself but the doctor offered to do that for him instead.
The doctor “casually” molested him
That is when things start to turn awry for the student.
He shared,
“He took me into his office and as he was unrolling my shorts all the way to my thighs, he just… touches me there… he cupped his hands and just did it… and I don’t know.. I’m a guy and I was so confused.”
“But because I was so tired and basically had an open wound, I didn’t register what happened.”

The man added that it was not until he got back home and spoke with one of his friends that it dawned on him that he was molested by the doctor.
Left traumatised by the incident
The experience also left an impact on him as when it happened, he had only been in Malaysia for one week and throughout the week, he had met nothing but nice people in our country.
The man asserted,
“Now with all the nice Malaysian people that I’ve met over the past week, this interaction definitely made me super uncomfortable and I’m still thinking about it until now.”
“I don’t know if this is normal in Johor or Malaysia but like… I’m just confused and dumbfounded. Like I wish I jumped up and beat the shit out of him because I could’ve easily retaliated but I didn’t register what happened at the time.”
The man then said how isolated it feels to be a foreign student all alone and was dumbfounded about what to do next.
Malaysians urge him to lodge a police report
In the comments, many Malaysians empathised with the foreign student and gave him advice on what to do next.
In one comment thread, a Redditor said that he shouldn’t fall into the trap of thinking “I should’ve done XYZ” as people are often confused in the moment of sexual assault and that it’s NEVER the victim’s fault. The commenter further advised him to talk to a therapist to fully process the event rather than just pretend that it never happened.
The foreign student replied to this comment and said that he did speak to a friend about the incident and that he broke down in tears as it was just too much to handle.
Besides that, several commenters urged him to lodge a police report so that the perpetrator could face action for his actions. If these allegations are true, we sincerely hope that the victim will recover from the experience and that the perpetrator face justice.
