The Star reported that a man fell to his death from the Central Plaza building, which is an office building along Jalan Sultan Ismail, on Thursday (3 January 2019) afternoon.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Shaharuddin Abdullah was quoted as saying,
“Police received word of the incident after a MERS 999 call came in today (Thursday) at around 6pm. The caller said that the victim had fallen from the Central Plaza building along Jalan Sultan Ismail.”
“Interviews with friends and colleagues revealed that the victim showed no noticeable change in behaviour. One said that the victim was last seen during breakfast and appeared fine.”
FYI, MERS 999 is an acronym for Malaysia Emergency Response Services 999.

As of now, the police do not suspect any sort of foul play in the death of the poor man but they are still investigating the case.
The report also shared that a post-mortem will be conducted for further investigation. That said, we hope that the police and the authorities involved will get to the bottom of this matter as soon as possible.

A recent update from China Press revealed that the victim, who worked as a delivery man, actually jumped from the 29th floor of the building. The police believe that he had taken this drastic decision because he couldn’t repay his piling debts.
The report also wrote that the 36-year-old man hailed from a poor family in Negeri Sembilan and he had applied for many personal loans ever since he moved to Kuala Lumpur for work.
As mentioned above, the man’s body has been sent for a post-mortem and the police have classified the case as sudden death report (SDR).
