It’s a green vehicle but is it a “Green Vehicle”?
Recently, a tweet went viral showing a green Perodua Axia parked at a parking bay labelled “Green Vehicle” with the caption, “Orang Malaysia memang kelakar” (Malaysians are ‘funny’). Wait, does the label Green Vehicle mean that it’s for actual green coloured vehicles?
For those of you who are unaware, a Green Vehicle is an eco-friendly vehicle that is powered by electricity or alternative fuel, apart from petrol or diesel. They are said to be more efficient and less harmful to the atmosphere.
The tweet was meant to ridicule the Axia driver for parking his green coloured car at a Green Vehicle bay, thinking the spot was for green cars only. It sure is funny at first glance but wait a minute!
What the user didn’t know is that the Axia is actually a Green Vehicle. Its is even the country’s first Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV)!
This was when netizens told the user off. They even came with receipts!
Some even mocked the user for his ignorance. Poor guy!
Weirdly enough, there was even an article issued in May 2018 by the Journal of the Society of Automotive Engineers (JSAEM) Malaysia addressing this issue.
He wanted to make fun of someone but the tables turned and he ‘kena balik’. Let’s hope he’s learnt his lesson at least!
