Remember the cat that was hung to death by an unknown man?
On 11th June, a cat owner found his cat hung dead at his Wangsa Maju Apartment, and a CCTV footage revealed that an unknown man did this cruel act.
The 28-year-old Al Azrin Norhisham, who was seen in the footage, was arrested by the police and sentenced to 15 months of jail.

He was charged under Section 29(1)(e) of the Animal Welfare Act 2015 (Act 772), read together with Section 29(1) of the same Act, which provides a maximum three-year jail term, or a fine, or both, according to NST.
It’s good news that he’s finally arrested, finally giving justice to the poor cat and its owner.
However, the accused claimed that he was attacked by the cat before he decided to kill it, saying:
“The cat bit my arm until it bled. That’s why I caught it and hung it.”
That’s not all, the man, who’s unrepresented, also pleaded:
“I would like to ask for a lighter sentence because I’m an orphan.”
Wait, what?!
We’re not sure about how being an orphan has anything to do with his crime, but he could’ve just run out of reasons to excuse him from being punished by law.
He proceeded to plead by mentioning his mental instability and claimed he had “a letter from the hospital” to prove his statement.
The Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Hajar Mohd Ashif objected to his plea and asked for a deterrent sentence against the cruel man.
She said that since this piece of news has garnered a lot of attention from the public as it went viral on social media, “there’s a need to teach the public and the accused a lesson”.
This may be the ending that is truly the most just here, but let’s not be distracted by the fact that inflicting pain and worse, KILLING innocent animals is NOT OKAY.
