MOE Will Be Replacing All Textbooks Lost & Damaged Due To The Floods, Free of Charge!

Many items within the homes of flood victims were destroyed. From electronics to furniture, some things may take a long time to replace.

Thankfully, the Ministry of Education (MOE) is here to help out students who have lost their textbooks to the floods.

Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin shared via a video on his Facebook page, that the Ministry will help replace all damaged textbooks of students effected by the floods.

“We are aware that during the huge flooding period that many students were effected by the floods. And MOE received many inquiries about textbooks that were damaged due to the floods.” he said, adding that about 263,662 textbooks were damaged, involving 14,422 students.

He went on to explain that the ministry has enough textbooks in storage to replace the damaged ones and to allow students to proceed with their studies next week.

To all students who have lost their textbooks or their textbooks were damaged because of floods, don’t worry.

They do not have to pay for the compensation or for the replacement of the textbooks. Teachers will record the number of textbooks damaged and we will ensure that efforts to replace them are done immediately to enable next week’s school session to run smoothly and in an orderly fashion.” he explained.

He ended his video by sending a prayer for all the students affected to overcome this difficult period.
