Casual outfits tend to be the most popular option when it comes to going to the mall, especially during the weekend. As long as we’re comfortable in it and since it’s not a formal setting, the attire we wear to malls is rarely an issue.

Malls do not have a specific dress code that visitors have to adhere to, but recently, a Malaysian expressed her disappointment towards the outfit choices of the Gen Zs, particularly men. 

In the Facebook group KL娱乐站, a woman said that she recently visited a mall in Kuala Lumpur only to be disappointed with the outfits of some men, which revealed their thighs. 

“I see men are wearing pants shorter than the women, and why would they do that.”

“I really don’t get their outfits. Why would they wear really short pants paired with high socks? Where did they get the confidence,” she added.

Not only that but the woman also expressed her disgust towards men who wear tight shorts and revealed the shape of their butts. She then commented on their thick, greasy hair, and said that they are more feminine than women themselves.

“Can’t you guys dress appropriately?”

“Mind your own business”

Her post in the Facebook group has captured the attention of fellow Malaysians, who all thought that she should mind her own business and reserve judgement to herself.

“Why would you care? Everyone deserves to wear what they like, as long as they’re happy.”

“As long as it’s lawful, they can do whatever that makes them happy. You have the right to dislike it, but please respect the culture and the differences. Thank you,” said another user.

Another netizen said that malls are probably not meant for the writer of the post. “Stop going to malls then. Might as well live in the jungle.”

“What do you know about fashion and trends,” asked another netizen.

“You’re too free that you have an opinion about what others wear? Would you like to care about how others breed?”

A user jokingly said, “Perhaps you should talk to the manufacturers of the shorts and tell them to stop coming up with shorts.”

Weekends are often the only time when all of us can be as casual as we want to be.
