Dogs are men’s best friend and just like other pets, they deserve to be treated humanely and with love. To lose and grieve a pet is not something easy but unfortunately, a Malaysian woman recently had to go through the heartbreak of losing her pet dog, which she had for 14 long years!

In a viral Facebook post, Zenise felt “different” as if something bad was going to happen when she received a call from her family about her missing dog. She rushed home to Bera, Pahang from KL and spent the whole day looking for her dog after the dog catchers from the City Council denied being responsible for the matter.

“I was told by one of the dog catchers that my pet dog was left in a garbage dump.”

After asking for the exact location from the man she spoke to, Zenise wasted no time and rushed to the scene but what she found was beyond heartbreaking.

She found her pet dog dead in a pile of dog carcasses!

Based on the voice notes shared by Zenise, the dog catcher assured her that her pet dog was only left at the garbage dump, and not killed. What Zenise had to witness was entirely different,

“What had my dog done? Why did you kill the innocent dog? Why didn’t you give me time to get my dog back?!”

Zenise trusted the man’s word but in return, she was “given” the corpse of a her dog.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Zenise said that she had met with the City Council in the district for a peaceful discussion.

“I understand that not everyone is a dog lover but I hope the local government can work together with relevant organisation to capture strays appropriately, neuter them, before releasing them.”

Zenise also shared with WORLD OF BUZZ the outcome of the negotiation, and here are the common grounds that both parties have reached.

  • One month’s notice from the City Council prior to dog-catching operations. This will allow dog owners to keep their pets safe and put stray dogs in safe places.
  • Pet owners will be given at least 2 to 3 days to redeem their dogs.
  • City Council promised to work together with people from areas with stray issues.
  • No dog-catching operations will be launched unless the City Council receives complaints from the public.

The City Council also suggested dog owners put on tags for their neutered dogs.

With these common grounds, Zenise hopes that history will not repeat itself again and she hopes the best for the fate of the dogs.
