Cockroaches are the public enemy that we’re not afraid to admit that we hate them, while some of us claim that they only fear flying cockroaches. These creatures are definitely not welcome in our houses, that’s why we would try our best to keep them out.
Other than keeping our place clean, we would try other ways like traps, baits, and mothballs to get rid of pests. A girl on Twitter (@nraniszati) shared how her roommate was lining up a string of mothballs on the ground so that the cockroaches would not enter her room.
Aniszati explained that her roommate spotted a cockroach in the living room, and she didn’t want the pest to sneak into her room. So, she’s “defending” her room entrance with a fortress of mothballs, hoping that it would work, while having loads of fun with her roommates.
Netizens were very much entertained because of the adorableness, and they responded to the tweet with their ways of exterminating cockroaches.
While some may argue that it doesn’t work, this lady here believes that the roaches could still escape the mothballs and these seals can prevent roaches from entering.
Another lady gave her two-cent of a way to get rid of the roaches because she thought it worked really well for her. She said this product works wonders by placing just one block at the door, and there’s no need for OP’s roommate to line up the mothballs.
And there’s this troll comment that made our day:
“Why would you need to do all the hard work, when you can settle by sticking this at your door? The cockroach will understand.”
Sure. We’re sure this trick will be able to keep all roaches out.
While we’re amused with this Twitter thread, someone did a PSA on mothballs in response to OP’s tweet, warning that some people are allergic to the scent of those balls.
She explained that people with G6PD deficiency will suffer from haemolysis when triggered by naphthalene (chemical) given off by the mothballs. Thus, it is safer to check if your family or friends had G6PD deficiency before using mothballs in your house.
What other ways do you think would have worked to get rid of roaches? Leave us a comment!
