Time and time again, national gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi has proven that Malaysia is no slouch where gymnastics is concerned, and has brought plenty of international recognition to our country in this graceful but no less demanding genre of sport.
Which is probably why it comes to nobody’s surprise that our beloved local queen of gymnastics has once again bagged gold for Malaysia at the 30th South East Asia (SEA) Games in an all-around event, as reported by Malay Mail!
This exciting victory comes after Farah scored an incredible 48.05 points in total for all four routines that she performed, clearing the deck with absolute ease. Breaking down her routine, Farah started off strong by recording 13.55 points in vault, 12.45 points in uneven bar, 9.550 in balance beam and 12.50 for floor exercising, resulting in an all-around victory.
Her gold medal marks Farah’s 10th medal at the SEA Games, and her fifth gold.
“Every time I come into competitions, I just want to do my routine, do the very best I could and avoid mistakes. The crowd here is amazing; the Filipino people are nice, (I’m) very happy and glad to get their support.” said Farah, after being presented with her medal.
She will be representing Malaysia yet again today for the women’s individual vault and uneven bar events. On a separate note, national athlete Loh Choon How has also done Malaysia proud by winning gold in wushu, posting 9.680 points.
From all of us here in Malaysia, we would like to congratulate all our national sportsmen and sportswomen for incredible wins at the SEA Games, and wish them many more successes in the coming events to follow!
