Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was the subject matter of  a viral video recently in which he was seen ignoring a bystander who was scolding him during an event. While it is uncertain when and where the video was recorded, it is believed that the incident happened during a Felda event based on the uniform being worn by Ismail Sabri and other participants.

The video, which was shared by Twitter user @yaniejela has since gone viral on the social media platform, garnering over 1461 retweets and over 2579 likes. In the video, a man from behind the recording smartphone can be heard scolding the Prime Minister while he was passing with his entourage.

The man, who is believed to be a Bera resident based on his accent can be heard saying that the roads in the district are in a very terrible state and asked the Prime Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bera for repairs or even new roads. Furthermore, while the man was scolding Ismail Sabri, another bystander can be heard laughing at the former’s antics.

You can watch the full video below:

The 15-second video has since sparked a debate on the actions of the bystander, with some netizens commending him while others labelling him as rude. One commenter said that the Prime Minister ignoring the man is not in line with the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ slogan which said that the government must always listen to the voice of the rakyat.

Meanwhile, another commenter said that the man is right to voice his dissatisfaction directly to the Prime Minister so that he and his ministers would know the true plight of the rakyat. Indeed, some even commented that what the man said was true and that the roads in Bera do need fixing and proper attention by the authorities.

However, there are also people that viewed the man’s actions negatively, saying that it is not the proper way to address the issue and that he could’ve spoken in a more ‘civilised’ manner. Besides that, there are also comments that the man’s action was rude towards the Prime Minister.
