Following resignation, one of the things that we’ll make sure of is to get our salary before we leave a company. The delay in receiving our hard-earned salary will only end up in never-ending back-and-forths.
That was exactly what a Malaysian woman, Jess is going through. In her Facebook post, Jess, who is a former beautician at a premium skincare company in the Klang Valley reached out to HR via WhatsApp months after her resignation because she has yet to receive her salary, which she should’ve received back in June.

“I’ve returned my uniform months ago. Otherwise, I will visit the branch and argue about this. Thank you.”
HR told Jess that they will respond to her after lunch
To make sure she got what she wanted, Jess told HR that she would bring this matter to the labor department if she did not receive her pay on the same day. She did not even want to wait for HR to check on it because Jess has been waiting for months.
In less than 30 mins, HR replied and told Jess that she can expect to get her salary by 5 September as they have a cut-off date to process the payment.
“From my side, we had only received your uniform end of last month.”
The screenshot of the conversation with HR was shared on Jess’ Instagram story and to her surprise, many responded and told her that they, too, went through the same fate after their resignation. One of the responses said,
“I can tell you that HR treats those who have resigned in a similar manner.”
To all the responses that Jess has received, she expressed her shock and said,
“If I didn’t leave the circle, I wouldn’t have known the ugly side of HR. Big company and good boss but unfortunately, we have employees who create problems.”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Jess said that as of today (August 17), she has received her basic salary but not the commission, which she may have to wait for the next 3 months.
“They said I did not sign any agreements, so they can’t give me my commission.”
This baffled Jess even further because she has resigned from the skincare company months ago, and she did not expect to sign any agreements following her resignation.
“I’m not even a staff there anymore. My offer letter stated that commission will be given in 6 months but did not specify anything about signing an agreement,” Jess explained to WORLD OF BUZZ.
