The Good Vibes Festival (GVF) has been making all the headlines over the past couple of days after the unruly action by the English Pop-rock band The 1975’s frontman during their performance.

Following the fiasco, GVF, which was supposed to go on until 23 July has been cancelled and The 1975 was blacklisted from performing in our country.

While many fans were disappointed that they couldn’t catch their favourite musicians that were due to perform at the festival, some had it worse due to the cancellation, most notably the vendors at the event.

All of them are local businesses which had to leave early from a festival that would pretty much guarantee a lot of customers. One of the vendors is myBurgerLab, which took to Instagram to share a few photos of GVF vendors packing up and closing their respective stalls.

The local burger chain then took the opportunity to list down all of the affected vendors in the post, giving them the spotlight so that Malaysians can help support the businesses following GVF’s cancellation.

myBurgerLab asserted,

“While we understand that this is a consequence of what happened during the last performance of Day 1, we want to send out a message to our audience.

“This is just as devastating to the various food vendors and small businesses as it is to the organisers, sponsors, workers, and the thousands of attendees who paid their hard-earned money to see their favourite acts perform live and enjoy the festival.

“While we’re tearing down our stalls in the afternoon heat of Sepang, we realise: how will we and all the other food vendors recover from this? We’ve all spent no small amount of money to ensure that we’re bringing the very best we have to GVF and making this event a success. Not to mention the time, effort, collaboration, and lost sleep we had to go through.

“So we do what we can, cut our losses where we see fit and find a way to lower wastage where we can. And we urge you, the reader, to look out for any of the food vendors of GVF2023 on social media and just see if they need any help. A few words of support and encouragement are welcome and appreciated too. “

Accordingly, here are all the vendors and their respective social media accounts (if any):

In the replies to the post, many Malaysians commanded the initiative made by myBurgerLab and pledged to support the vendors in any upcoming events they have coming up.

A few commenters even said that they hoped the cancelled GVF can somehow turn into a food festival just so that they can support the vendors.

The post was also reposted on Twitter by user @Mulut_Cabai and gained traction from Malaysians on the social media platform.

In fact, the tweet was responded to by Communications and Digital (KKD) Minister Fahmi Fadzil who said that his team is in touch with the vendors to find more ways to assist them.
