If you travel frequently between Singapore and Malaysia, we’ve got some great news for you!
According to The Star, Singapore will be revising charges for those leaving and entering the country via the Woodlands checkpoint starting 1st February this year. Toll charges have been abolished for those entering Singapore, while rates have been reduced for those leaving the country.

In a report by Bernama, the reduced charges for vehicles leaving Singapore are as follows;
- Cars (Current charges: SGD$3.80, new charges: SGD$1.00)
- Vans or light goods vehicles (Current charges: SGD$5.80, new charges: SGD$1.50)
- Heavy goods vehicles (Current charges: SGD$7.70, new charges: SGD$2.00)
- Taxis (Current charges: SGD$1.90, new charges: SGD$0.50)
- Buses (Current charges: SGD$3.10, new charges: SGD$0.80)
This toll-free entry was decided in light of the Malaysian government’s abolishment of the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) toll plaza operations, which was effective on 1st January.

Malaysian transport and logistic providers have welcomed the decision as well, with the Pan-Malaysian Lorry Owners Association’s president Anthony Tan saying that the move will improve cross-border trade between Malaysia and Singapore on top of reducing the cost of sending goods to and from Singapore.
