Those who are always caught up with what the politicians discuss (or argue) about in the Parliament often watch the session through snippets on YouTube. Some even have the time to watch the live broadcasts.
However, Langkawi’s MP, Suhaimi Abdullah thinks that there is a possibility of spies lurking in Parliament as the Rakyat seem to know about what’s going on during Parliament sessions.
Does this hall have enough security?
During the parliamentary session yesterday (March 29), Suhaimi voiced his concern about politicians being spied on during the debate.
“How do we know what’s being said here stays here? How do we know who’s spying on us? Are the companies that pay to the consultants spying on us?”
When Kampar MP, Chong Zhe Min interrupted and told Suhaimi about the live broadcasts, Suhaimi said:
“Yes, I know about the live broadcasts! But there are certain things that others shouldn’t know, such as when we’re talking about other countries.”
He then continued and questioned the safety of the WiFi that’s installed in Parliament.
“Where is our data and server? Are the ministers tipping off to others when they’re using the phone?”
“But the live broadcasts have been going on for years”
The clip of Suhami’s concern went viral on Twitter, and many netizens were baffled to see how Suhaimi seemed so clueless about how conversations in Parliament are spread to the public.
“RTM has been broadcasting the Parliamentary session live for years. We don’t even have to spy, just watch it on TV.”
“Is he stupid for real or is he pretending to be stupid?”
“Did he attend the congressional hearing with Tiktok’s CEO? What is this?”
“God, this is embarrassing.”
“How could he not know about the live broadcast? I give up on the Opposition every time they talk. Such a waste of time.”
