Just recently, Berita Harian reported that Malaysians will be enjoying a special facility at the Malaysian border in Sadao, Southern Thailand.
Apparently, we are going to get our very own parking space!
How cool is that? The parking space, which will be built on the Sadao field, is expected to complete by mid of this year.

According to the Mayor of the town, Sumet Sasithon, the 5.93-acre parking space can accommodate up to 50 vehicles including buses and cars, or about 200 cars (alone) all at once. WHOA, that’s a lot of vehicles!
“With this facility, situated 12 kilometres away from the border of Malaysia-Thailand, the parking problem will then decrease when tourists come to Thailand through Bukit Kayu Hitam and Padang Besar, Perlis,” Sumet further explained.
He also said that the construction of the parking lot costs around 40 million Baht (RM5 million), adding that with the parking space, the journey of Malaysian tourists who want to travel to Thailand with public transportation will be much easier.
Meaning, you can drive to the parking lot, park your car there, and then use their public transportation to get to their country. A good travelling alternative especially if you’re on a budget, IMO!

Besides the parking lot, he said that they will be building a business hub along with a Malaysia-Thailand handicraft market that is expected to operate every Monday. With that being said, the entire cost plus the parking expenses will amount to about 200 million Baht (RM24.8 million).
Sumet also added that the one-floor parking lot will be convenient for tourists if they want to visit the theme park, which is located just 2km away and will be opened in two years’ time. The fun does not stop there either, as he said that Malaysians can even have their own recreational activities in the Sadao fields too. Imagine going for a picnic at the borders of Malaysia and Thailand; exciting isn’t it?
