M’sia’s Kyoto Protocol is Turning 10 & They Want You to Celebrate With Them This Weekend!

Kyoto Protocol, a five-piece local band formed in 2009 will be celebrating their 10th Year Anniversary with a big birthday bash that you simply cannot miss!

Comprised of Fuad Alhabshi (vocals & guitar), Shakeil Bashir (bass & vocals), Gael Oliveres (keyboards & vocals), Hairi Haneefa (guitar), and Shan Reddy (drums), Kyoto Protocol is definitely one of those bands shaping the future of Malaysia’s music industry as they continue to push the boundaries, taking inspiration from unexpected genres like disco and psychedelia.

Not unfamiliar to Malaysia’s music scene, Kyoto Protocol has grown in leaps and bounds since their inception, performing in Malaysia’s largest music festivals like Good Vibes and Urbanscapes, conducting their own tours across the region and opening for some of their heroes like The Killers and Tenacious D.

For the past 10 years, Kyoto Protocol has released four albums – An Album, Pahlawan, Catch These Men, and The Pen Is Mightier – and has made international and regional tours. Now in 2019, they simply want to celebrate 10 years of their journey thus far and extend an invitation to you to join the party!

Coming under the umbrella of the longest-running creative festival, Urbanscapes 2019, this party is going to be one that you will remember as they have a high-powered line-up designed for you to rock out while taking a stroll down memory lane.

The event will be held on 23rd November 2019 at The Bee, Publika, which will be transformed into a mini-festival ground showcasing the varied and awesome talent that the independent music scene has to offer.

Supported by Jumero, Glass, Me Gusta, Berdosa, and Spooky Wet Dreams, the band aims to make this a celebration of not only their career but also the vibrant independent music scene that gave it life.
