We’ve all encountered our share of Karens in Malaysia, whether they’re locals or tourists. Dealing with them can be a challenge, especially when they cause a scene in public. Once they start, it’s nearly impossible to get them to stop.
In a recent video posted by @niacarbonara, she visited a cafe in Genting Highlands and unexpectedly found herself sitting next to someone she describes as a “Karen”.
She got told off by a random woman
In the video, Nia can be seen recording the situation as she gets told off by the angry woman, who was clearly upset about something after Nia sat down at the table next to hers.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Niz shared how she decided to visit an eatery after a long day of driving while she waited for her siblings to finish up at the theme park.
“She was angry because my leg was pointing at her”
Nia explained that upon getting a table at the eatery next to the random lady, she sat down with her legs crossed, facing the lady’s direction.
She claims that not long after that, the lady started getting mad and telling her off for sitting with her legs pointing directly towards the lady’s direction.
“As you see in the video, I sat down with my legs crossed. She was mad because I was sitting with my crossed leg pointing towards her direction.”
The woman started making a scene by talking loudly
Nia explained that after getting told off, she respectfully put her legs down, but the woman continued to argue, even lifting her own leg and pointing it at Nia’s face.
“I argued back, but she kept yapping about how I was racist because my leg was pointing towards her. She kept making racial comments as well.”
She mentioned that the woman was so loud that everyone around started noticing and looking in their direction to see what the commotion was about.
“I never thought I’d meet a real-life Karen”
Nia also noted that when the woman finally left her table, the situation didn’t end there. She saw the woman approach another group of aunties, trying to tell them about Nia.
After the incident, a random man came over to check if Nia was okay and asked her what had happened to which she then shared her experience with him.
“I found it quite funny and unusual. I never expected to encounter a Karen in my life, so having her lash out at me was really unexpected.”
