Myanmar Man Fatally Stabs Female Chef at Thai Restaurant in Penang Because the Food Wasn’t Tasty

A female chef at a Thai restaurant in Penang was stabbed to death by one of the customers who was unhappy with the food.

The customer physically attacked the cook after claiming that the food was NOT delicious.

In the incident that took place at 9 PM yesterday (16 November), the victim, believed to be a Myanmar national in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Meanwhile, her husband, also a Myanmar national, in his late 40s, suffered injuries to his body. Another man, who is a friend of the suspect, was also injured after being stabbed in the same incident.

The suspect, who is also a Myanmar national, and his friends went to eat at the restaurant at 8.30 PM, and they were believed to be drunk and were not satisfied with the food served.

An argument ensued between the men, and the unhappy customers were told to leave the premises. Later, one of the customers contacted his brother before entering the kitchen and stabbed the victim.

 

3 suspects arrested, case investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder

Following this, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) arrested the suspect and his brother, both in their late 30s, near the scene. The victim’s body was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post-mortem, while the two injured victims were also treated at the same hospital.

Meanwhile, state police chief Datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the incident, reported Harian Metro.

“The suspect is believed to be drunk. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he said.

Three suspects, including the two brothers, are now being remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation. Magistrate Roshayati Radellah, this morning (17 November), allowed the three suspects to be remanded for seven days until 23 November for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
