Guess what? The police are still at Najib’s house! Wow, they’re working really hard in this investigation. It’s been more than 24 hours!
Supporters of former prime minister, Najib Razak, have been visiting him at his Taman Duta house while the police are still working on their investigations, according to Free Malaysia Today.
These people include former ministers Azalina Othman, Mahdzir Khalid and Aziz Karpawi. All three of them refused to say anything to the media, who have not left the premises ever since the police began their raid on Wednesday night (May 16). Talk about dedication!
However, Kota Raja Umno committee member Nazilah Idris, managed to have a word with Najib for a short while. She said that he had remained calm through all the searching and probing, and had given his full cooperation to the police.
“He treated the police at his house well and he never obstructed them,” she told reporters.
“Normally if people are guilty or feel guilty, they won’t be so calm.”
She called Najib an “aristocrat” and defended him by saying that he had already been wealthy before he became the prime minister.
“Why do we want to question the jewellery and bags he has?”
“Anyone can buy and wear such brands. There is no need to make it an issue or link it to 1MDB,” she added.
Putting on an emotional and dramatic front while sobbing, she said that Najib is a very strong and high spirited leader and requested for justice to be granted to him. She pleaded for him not to be treated like how Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was treated.
According to Malay Mail, the activist also added that it was normal for men and women of Najib’s stature to own truckloads of handbags, jewellery and other expensive branded items.
“He’s the son of a Prime Minister. He is nobility. He was a Prime Minister and Pahang Mentri Besar when he was only 30 years old. I think if you look into the homes of other wealthy people, you will find similar items in similar numbers as well,” said Najib’s staunch supporter.
However, Najib’s brother Datuk Seri Nazir Razak, denied in a statement a few years ago that his late father, second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak, was a man of great wealth and that the family did not have a lot to inherit.
Early this morning, the police had completed a raid at three luxury apartments in Bukit Bintang linked to Najib. They had confiscated 284 handbags, including Hermes Birkins, and 72 luggage bags containing cash and jewellery which filled up five Black Maria lorries and were carried away.
Well, whatever happens, justice will always prevail!
