War is never good. It’s not just about the number of casualties but also the trauma that it has left in the wake.
With the ongoing conflict between Palestine and Israel, it’s devastating to see places being attacked every day and the rise in the number of deaths. According to Oriental Daily, the casualties in Gaza now are nearing 10,000 victims, and 3,900 of them are children.
The latest statistics were released by the Palestinians on Saturday and the number of deaths was recorded in just 3o days after the war started.
Former Secretary-General of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet of Australia, Menadu lamented that more civilians were killed in 3 weeks when Israel exercised its “right of self-defense” than in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine which lasted 19 months.
Gaza’s health ministry said on Saturday that at least 9,488 Palestinians, including 3,900 children, have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
As of October 29, since Israel began bombing Gaza on October 7, the death toll in Gaza has exceeded 8,000, including more than 3,400 children, which is equivalent to one death in every 10 minutes.
Sadly, these are only the estimated numbers based on the bodies that were successfully recovered. It is estimated that there are 1,650 bodies buried under the rubble, at least half of which are children.
We can only do our part here by sending more aid in terms of food, cash donation, or even as simple as prayers for the victims of war. Hopefully, the crisis will end before more lives are robbed.
