Potong stim laaaa!
A Singaporean man was stunned as knocks came from his door, and he opened it to find police officers standing there.
Neighbours thought he was growing marijuana plants
The 35-year-old teacher was growing plants in his flat in Ang Mo Kio but
busybody neighbours assumed it was marijuana plants. All because he was using LED lights for them.
He revealed to Singapore’s local daily,
“Last week, police officers came knocking on my door, said my neighbour is suspecting me of planting marijuana plants and that’s why they reported it to the police.
“So, I just explained to the officers that I’m actually just planting okra plants, not marijuana.”
He said that he’s using the lights to improve the plants’ growth since they are not exposed to direct sunlight.
The misunderstanding probably came as LED lights are also frequently used for growing marijuana as well – since you know, people can’t obviously put it out on their balcony or window.
Additionally, the misunderstood man said that there’s a huge difference between the leaves of lady’s finger plants and marijuana plants. If his neighbours would’ve just ask him directly, he would’ve explained the difference to them.
The plants are being grown along the corridor
He just moved into the flat in March 2020, and since he shifted houses, he said the corridor does not provide ample sunlight for the plants. Hence, he’s using the LED lights to aid in their growth.
If never imagined that it would cause such a huge misunderstanding. However, he certainly was very amused at it.
You’d think a person would have enough common sense to not grow marijuana plants at the corridor where many people walk pass anyway!
