Earlier today, it was announced that Sam Ke Ting, who was convicted and charged by the Johor Bahru Court with the offence of reckless driving that caused the death of 8 teenagers riding ‘Basikal Lajak’, has been freed from all charges.
This caused a rift among netizens online, between those who believe she is innocent and those who believe the court made the wrong decision by letting her go free.

But, there is also another group of people who want to see justice being served, but not toward Sam Ke Ting.
Taking to social media, some have called for the parents of the children who died in the accident to be charged with child endangerment and negligence for allowing their teenage kids (still considered minors as they were aged 13 to 16) to race their Basikal Lajak at 3am on a highway.
“I support this (Sam Ke Ting going free), action should be taken against the parents of the kids instead.”
“Please charge the parents on the offense of negligence.”
“Charge the parents of the kids la. At 3am, these children were on a highway.”
What do you think? Should the loss of their children be enough to punish them for allowing their kids to ride Basikal Lajak (that doesn’t even have brakes) at 3am on a highway or should legal action be taken against the parents?
Would the loss alone be enough to teach other parents not to repeat the same mistake?
