The scorching Malaysian heat is in full swing again, and that means just about everyone is heading to their nearest shopping mall in search of air conditioning. It’s a lifelong passion for many Malaysians to beat the heat, and thanks to this new device coming out of Japan, we might have finally found the perfect solution.
The fanbrella was recently introduced in the middle of Japan’s summer, when temperatures went as high as 40 degrees. This nifty device looks like any conventional umbrella, but it contains a fan hidden under the hood!

If the fan still isn’t enough to keep you cool, you can attach a water bottle to the nozzle to use the fanbrella’s inbuilt mist spray function, which will spray two jets of fine mist towards your face. Oh wow, just sell us one already!
The spray is also manually operated, so you get to choose when and where to release that refreshing cloud. While the fanbrella isn’t being sold here in Malaysia (yet), it’s currently retailing for 5980 yen, or RM230, in Japan.

Having an umbrella that not only fans you while you walk down the sweltering KL streets but can also cool you down with a quick spray of mist sounds like the perfect companion for our weather, and we bet someone will bring these in sooner or later.
