Working holidays are the perfect opportunity for youngsters to fulfil their wanderlust while simultaneously making enough money to sustain themselves, and we’re happy to report that New Zealand will be opening up working holiday visas for Malaysians to apply!
According to the official website of New Zealand Immigration, the country welcomes young Malaysians to work or study there for up to six months while enjoying their holidays.
However, the applicants must first have NZ$2,250 (approx. RM6,100) to support themselves during the stay. You may be required to prove it upon your arrival in New Zealand.
Here are some of the criteria you should fulfil in order to be eligible for this:
- You must be aged between 18 and 30 years old
- You cannot hold a permanent job there
- The work must be legal
- You cannot provide commercial sexual services
- You cannot bring your children with you on a working holiday
- A separate visa is required for your partner
The application can be done online at a fee of NZ$208 (approx. RM860), which you can pay via your credit card. The application will be processed within 21 days and you will be contacted via email.
It’s advisable for you to have all your documents ready by the time of application as you might be asked for them as evidence. Just so you know, the quota is limited at 1,150 Malaysians per year and the application will only be opened on 23 January 2019 at 5am Malaysian time. Mark your calendars!
So guys, if you’re looking for a working holiday this year, why not give this a shot? More information is available here on their official website.
