Good news, everybody!
As there were no new local Covid-19 cases reported in Kuching and Serian District for the past 14 days, Sarawak has regained its status as a green zone. This includes all the 40 districts in the state, based on the official press statement released by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) yesterday (12 August).
At the moment, three active cases are being treated at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and the cumulative number of cases is still at 681. No discharged or recovery cases were informed yesterday. Hence, the overall recovery percentage remained at 96.77% (659 individuals) and the death rate at 2.79% (19 individuals).
Even though the state has returned to its green zone status, ten clusters are still active, involving a total of 70 people. Below is the list:
- Engineering Firm Cluster (8 cases)
- Mambong Cluster (7 cases)
- Medical Centre Cluster (3 cases)
- Jupiter Cluster (3 cases)
- Stutong Market Cluster (7 cases)
- Kuching Jetty Cluster (2 cases)
- Sentosa Cluster (31 cases)
- Melbourne PUI Cluster (3 cases)
- Kuching Construction Company Cluster (2 cases)
- Satok Market Cluster (4 cases)
Starting 15 August, business operations and activities in Zone 1 divisions (Kuching, Serian and Samarahan) will be allowed to resume back to normal. The decision is made after analysing the current Covid-19 situation in the state together with KKM and tourism industry.
Moving on, PDRM has issued 17 compound notices to those who’ve violated the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs). Nine of them were in Kuching, three in Kota Samarahan, three in Simunjan, one in Betong, and one more in Sarikei. Additionally, ten Indonesian men were arrested at a Simunjan roadblock as they did not have permission letters from the police to travel across zones.
