Everyone deserves to live the life they dream of, as long as they don’t harm anyone. What if the plan to live your life comes with the decision to change your gender?

Malaysian cross-dresser, Bryan Wee recently announced in an FB reel about his newly-discovered identity – Bai En (a Chinese name that bears a resemblance to Bryan). Bryan Wee is no more, and that was confirmed when Bai En tore a picture of Bryan. Bai En even went to the extent of removing the page of Bryan Wee to “give life” to his new page – Bai En. 

“I’m headed to Thailand soon to…”

In his reel, Bai En took the opportunity to answer 1 of the burning questions that have been posed to him – what about his gender? 

“By end of March, I’ll be headed to Thailand to perform a gender-affirming surgery. And then…” Bai En got emotional for a bit before he could continue.

He also assured everyone that after the surgery, Bryan Wee would be long gone. Disappear into thin air. And it looks like Bai En will not turn his back anymore. It’s a farewell to his past.

“I’ve made my decision. I don’t know what I’ll face after the surgery, but all the best, new life!”

Bringing parents into the picture

Bai En also had a live session on Facebook where his parents were brought into the picture. His mum admitted that she couldn’t accept Bai En’s decision in the first place. While still not entirely agreeing to his decision, she said,

“He is still my son, regardless. As long as he doesn’t do anything bad to others and I hope people don’t hate him for his decision. He’s a good kid at home.”

Bryan also highlighted one of his parents’ concerns – his marriage in the future.

“I can adopt kids. One day when my parents are gone, I don’t think I’ll be here for long too.”

However, Bai En’s father couldn’t say the same. He was not happy with the decision.

Bai En’s decision involves long-term consequences and if it happens eventually, his life is bound for a huge, huge change. What do you think of this?
