The Wuhan virus has just been declared as a global health emergency by the World Health Organisation as more and more countries have been hit by the new coronavirus.

However, amidst all this chaos, there are people out there who are making a difference in their community by doing the little they can to help with the situation.

According to Shanghaiist, Chen, a hospital worker in Sichuan went to Nepal for a vacation before the coronavirus outbreak became serious. As the virus started spreading rapidly, her coworkers started telling her that they were worried about the shortage of masks.

Chen then took it upon herself to help with the situation and decided to put her vacation on hold. She went to local pharmacies near her hotel and bought all the masks she could which totaled to 5,800 masks!

Because of the amount of masks she purchased, she did not have enough space in her luggage to transport them back home. So, she ended up taking out the extra clothes she had brought along on the trip and brought back four bags full of face masks to be distributed out to locals.

This generous act comes after another inspiring story of a villager in Hunan province, who was paid by his former employer in face masks and decided to donate all of them to those in need. He gave away about 18,000 masks!

These individuals are unsung heroes. Who knows their small act of kindness could make a big impact on those who really need it.
