In another hilarious yet embarrassing mistake, a recent notice in English went viral on social media because it was full of grammatical mistakes and was pasted on a glass door at a Tourism Information Centre. Imagine all the international tourists laughing at it!
According to The Star, the notice that was found at the Perak Tourism Information Centre in Ipoh was supposed to inform the public about the temporary closure of the centre due to a faulty Internet connection and air-conditioning issues. However, the sign was so full of errors that you would probably have to second-guess every sentence.

After many netizens ridiculed the notice, the Ipoh City Council has finally responded and said that they will take action against the employee at the centre who wrote the notice.
Ipoh Mayor Datuk Zamri Man said, “We need a detailed explanation on how such an incident occurred. If there was carelessness involved, and the errors were made without thinking of the consequences, we will take the necessary action.”

He said that they would investigate and if they find out that there was clear negligence, they would issue a show-cause letter as well as a stern warning to the employee in question. Maybe send them for English classes too?
Guess we really need to brush up on our English, especially if we don’t want to be the laughing stock of international tourists!
