Syed Saddiq, the Muar Member of Parliament, has registered his new political party “Muda” today at The Registry Of Societies Malaysia (ROS). He announced that he will be registering it today while he was on-air in an interview with the radio station BFM 89.9, The Breakfast Grille, this Thursday morning.
He has also posted on his Twitter account a photo of the party name with the caption #MUDAsudahMULA. Muda stands for ‘Malaysian United Democratic Alliance’.

He stated that after his interview, he will immediately go to ROS to register Muda as a political party.
“It will be Malaysia’s first youth-driven and multi-religious political party that is fighting for the matter of all Malaysians, regardless of age and race – .young and old, Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan, for the interest of middle Malaysia”, he said.
He also aims to build grassroots support amongst the rakyat who have not sided or favoured any existing party.
According to Astro Awani, he plans to target “middle Malaysia” as he noticed that most Malaysians haven’t registered to vote and seem not even interested in registering.
He continued that these people have the desire to change and challenge the existing structure. He assures that these people will have an absolute impact on Malaysian politics.
The Muar MP also has not shown any hints that he will be forming an alliance with any parties ahead of the General Election 15 (GE-15).
He has stated that if Muda is destined to lose in GE-15 because we are not in support of UMNO and PAS, he will accept it. He added that it’s for the better that the party loses due to the power of the people’s vote.
