Kuala Lumpur is like a concrete jungle where many tourists and Malaysians would often visit. Pavilion KL, a mall located at one of the busiest areas in Bukit Bintang has managed to capture many people’s attention.
For those who frequent that area, the iconic Hakka Restaurant is situated right opposite the mall and according to 9shares, it seems like the low-profile tycoon Tan Sri Desmond Lim has bought over the land.
Now for those who are wondering, the land is 3.25 acres and is sold at RM4,000 per square feet. It was alleged that the low-profile property tycoon has used a total of RM556 million to purchase the land situated in the golden triangle.
Speculations were made that this could potentially be a project where they would build an extension to the mall. Some even said that the iconic restaurant will be removed and a new residential building with a bridge that connects to the mall could be built.
Either way, this purchase has shocked some netizens and many of them have mentioned that they’re sad to see the iconic restaurant gone.
A user then commented asking if this is the end for an iconic restaurant.
Another Facebook user also tagged their friend saying, “we haven’t even been to this restaurant, and now it has been bought over by Pavilion”.
