Good news for the fellow citizens who have yet to pay for their traffic summonses!

The Royal Malaysia Police will be enabling up to 50 per cent discount for the unpaid summons from 18 to 21 May, a total of four days.

Understanding how the current Covid-19 pandemic is straining many people financially and economically, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Department director Deputy Comm Datuk Azisman Alias hoped that the discount would help alleviate the burden for motorists.

With Hari Raya Aidilfitri coming at the end of May – while the Conditional Movement Control Order is still on-going – DCP Azisman noted that some may be facing financial difficulties.

“We understand some may be facing difficulties during the Movement Control Order while others may be preparing to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he said.

It had been reported that motorists can proceed to pay for their discounted summons online via www.myeg.com.my and www.rilek.com.my.

Besides the aforementioned good news, DCP Azisman had also revealed that traffic service counters at police headquarters would reopen in stages from 18 May onwards. He assured that the headquarters will reopen nationwide and that this is to facilitate payment of summons and insurance documentation for road accidents.

According to The Star, these counters will be set to open from 9am to 2pm every Monday and Wednesday in these states: Perlis, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

As for Fridays, the counters will be open from 9am to 12pm.

The counters in Kedah, Johor, Kelantan and Terengganu will open from 9am to 2pm every Monday, Wednesday and Sunday.

In order to comply with the safety and precautionary measures amid the Conditional MCO, motorists were advised to be mindful of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) when they handle their matters at the counters.

Don’t miss this chance to pay your summons online, guys!
