Yesterday, a Singaporean man claimed that officers from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) had forced him to bribe them when he was in KL. Along with his claim was a video that showcased the alleged incident.

Now, PDRM is looking for anyone with further information on the matter to come forward to help with an investigation.

The Polis KL Facebook page shared the statement from Dang Wangi district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya.

He wrote, “Early investigations that were carried out found that the incident took place near the Lalaport shopping centre, Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, on 10 April 2022 at about 12:30pm. A detailed investigation into this matter has been started as soon as the post and video had gone viral on the Facebook page.”

He then requested for anyone with further information on the incident to step forward.

“The police will not compromise with any officers in the event of such misconduct.”

“Members of the public with information on this matter can contact ASP Jaya Bin Dollah, the head of the Department of Integrity and Standards Compliance (JIPS) at 014-6396758, the Dang Wangi Police Headquarters at 03-26002222 or the Polis Kuala Lumpur hotline at 03-21159999 or head to your nearest police station,” he added.

We genuinely hope that their investigations are fruitful and that they take action against the officers if they are found to have forced the bribe on the man.

Stay tuned for more updates.
