Most victims of telecommunication fraud in Malaysia are those aged 21 to 30

Furthermore, the department revealed a breakdown of the cases, showing that adults aged between 21 and 30 accounted for the highest number of victims at 8,789.

Meanwhile, the 31 to 40 age group recorded the second-highest number of victims (6,825), followed by 41 to 50 (4,977) and 51 to 60 (3,382).

The age group with the lowest victims was 15 to 20, while the second lowest was those above 60 (2,763).

“This shows that telecommunications crimes victimise all age groups, and the public is advised to remain vigilant and not be easily deceived by any form of fraud,” the department stated.
